Essex · Private Chef

Essex at its best.
On the table.
Exactly right.

Bespoke private dining for Essex's finest private homes and country estates — from milestone celebrations on a private estate to regular household cooking for the weeks when everything else needs to run itself. The same standard. Always.

Essex's finest addresses
are something else entirely.

The image of Essex that belongs to an older decade no longer bears much relationship to the county's finest addresses — the private estates around Chigwell and Loughton, the large family homes set back from the roads near Epping Forest, the gated properties in the better parts of Brentwood and Chelmsford. These are homes of real quality, occupied by families of real achievement.

Private entertaining in Essex's best homes tends to be generous rather than formal — but the expectation for the quality of the food is just as high as anywhere else. A milestone birthday on the estate, a summer pool reception for sixty guests, a dinner party for the right twenty people: these are occasions that deserve a chef who brings the same precision and quality as any London engagement.

Andrés works in Essex with the same approach he brings to every private home: produce of the highest quality, cooking of real accomplishment, service that is entirely invisible, and a kitchen left immaculate. The occasion and the location determine the format. The standard does not change.

Trained to the
highest standard.
Devoted to yours.

Andrés Ribera is a London-based private chef with over 14 years of experience across some of the world's most prestigious kitchens — including Nobu — and some of New York's most celebrated restaurants. Originally from Spain and now based in London, Andrés has cooked for royals, foreign heads of state, award-winning musicians and film directors.

His approach in a private home is rooted in one principle: the food should be remarkable and the service should feel effortless. Guests notice the quality on the plate, while everything behind the scenes is handled with calm precision. That is precisely the point.

Andrés works with a small number of Essex clients at any one time, which means his full attention is always available to yours.

Questions about hiring a
private chef in Essex.

Everything you need to know before making an enquiry. For anything else, write to hello@godsavethechef.co.uk

  • Yes. Andrés covers the full range of Essex's prime residential areas — Chigwell, Loughton, Epping, Theydon Bois, Brentwood, Chelmsford, and the coastal and estuary areas. Travel is factored into the engagement fee and agreed in advance.
  • Yes. Large outdoor entertaining — a summer pool reception, a garden party, a marquee dinner on the estate — is something Andrés manages with the same approach as any indoor occasion. Menu and service are fully adapted to the outdoor environment, and the standard of the food and presentation does not change.
  • The menu for a large celebration is always built around what the host and their guests will most enjoy — whether that means a grand formal dinner, a relaxed but exceptional feast, or a passed canapé reception with a late-night supper. There are no set menus. Every celebration is designed from scratch.
  • Yes. Family celebrations often include guests of all ages, and Andrés prepares separately considered children's menus as standard for events that include younger guests — not simplified adult food, but genuinely appropriate and excellent food for children.
  • Andrés will always try to accommodate short notice requests when his schedule allows. For larger occasions or those requiring significant planning, two to three weeks ahead is ideal. For standing household arrangements, the conversation can begin at any time.
  • Entirely. The full service includes sourcing the finest seasonal produce, arriving at your home ahead of the meal, preparing everything in your kitchen, serving at the table, and leaving your home in immaculate condition. You do not need to think about any of it.
