London is no stranger to high-profile soirées, but few events capture the intersection of art, fashion, and culture quite like the Serpentine Gallery Summer Party. Held annually in the stunning Kensington Gardens, this exclusive gathering has long been a magnet for A-list celebrities, artists, and industry titans. In 2019, Chanel took center stage as the main sponsor, celebrating both the opening of Junya Ishigami’s ethereal Serpentine Pavilion and groundbreaking exhibitions by Faith Ringgold and Luchita Hurtado.
That same evening, I had the privilege of leading Serpentine Gallery Summer Party Catering, representing Farmacy, London’s acclaimed plant-based restaurant. It was an incredible opportunity to showcase innovative, health-conscious dishes to an audience where fine dining, art, high fashion, luxury, and sustainability converged in perfect harmony.

Bringing Flavour to London's Most Exclusive Party
As a private chef in London, I’ve had the privilege of catering for some of the world’s most discerning clients, but nothing quite prepared me for the sheer buzz and energy of the Serpentine Summer Party. Our bespoke food truck, nestled among some of the world’s most luxurious brands, became an unexpected highlight of the evening.
From the moment guests arrived, the excitement was palpable. Dressed in haute couture and mingling beneath the summer twilight, the crowd exuded effortless elegance. The guest list read like a who’s who of international talent, featuring figures from the film, music, and art worlds, including Naomi Campbell, Adwoa Aboah, Alexa Chung, and Edward Enninful. Even among such a dazzling lineup, one thing became clear: people came not just for the fashion but for the experience—and that included the food.

An Unforgettable Culinary Success
We designed our menu to complement the event’s sophisticated yet relaxed ambiance, focusing on fresh, high-quality plant-based ingredients that embodied seasonal, contemporary cuisine. Within hours, our food truck became a social hub, a place where guests kept returning for more. By the end of the night, we had served hundreds of plates—until we quite literally ran out of food.
For a chef, there’s no greater compliment than having guests queue up for seconds. Seeing world-renowned designers, artists, and musicians come back for more was a testament to the success of the evening. It was a reminder that at an event where every detail is meticulously curated, great food remains a universal language.
A Night of Music, Fashion and Culture
As if the evening couldn’t get more magical, guests were treated to a secret live performance by the enigmatic FKA twigs. Her haunting vocals and ethereal stage presence transformed Kensington Gardens into an intimate, almost otherworldly space, elevating the night to something truly unforgettable.
Standing there, surrounded by the creative elite, I was struck by how seamlessly food, music, and art intertwined to create an experience far greater than the sum of its parts. Catering at the Serpentine Summer Party wasn’t just about serving food—it was about contributing to a cultural moment.

Reflecting on an Iconic Evening
Even years later, my experience catering for the Serpentine Gallery Summer Party remains one of the defining moments of my career. To be part of an event that merges creativity at every level—from the design of the pavilion to the plates we served—was a true honour. It was an evening that celebrated the very best of London’s cultural landscape, where every element, from the haute couture gowns to the meticulously curated dishes, played a role in crafting an unforgettable night.
If you’re looking for a private chef in London for high-profile events, luxury brand collaborations, or exclusive private dining, I bring the same level of expertise and discretion that made this night a success.
