Revolutionizing our Food: Inside Natoora’s Panel

🌱 A few weeks ago I had the privilege of attending the “Local in a Global World” panel organized by Natoora and it was truly exciting! 🌍🍏

Natoora’s mission to “fix the food system” is inspiring. In a world where our connection to the source of our food has been lost, their dedication to working directly with growers to create a more sustainable future for farming is nothing short of commendable. It’s time for us all to become drivers of change!

The event brought together two incredible speakers: Adele Jones from The Sustainable Food Trust (SFT) and the renowned writer, podcaster and academic, Anna Sulan Masing, known for her work with the “Taste of Place” podcast. The discussion revolved around the concept of “local” in our food systems and whether it’s the path we should exclusively pursue.

Captured in the moment: Alice Scott, Natoora’s accomplished Communications Manager, alongside Adele Jones from The Sustainable Food Trust and the dynamic podcaster, Anna Sulan Masing.

Adele Jones and the SFT are on a mission to accelerate the transition to sustainable food systems, emphasizing the interconnectedness of soil, plants, animals, and people. They’re championing a future where food and farming promote both our health and the planet’s well-being.

The event left me intrigued questioning how could I combat “greenwashing” and support the EU initiatives for clearer green claims. ♻️

The Sustainable Food Trust’s “Food and Farming 5-point plan” highlights a path forward: Government action, common measurement for sustainability, green finance, guaranteed prices for sustainable farming and informed choices for consumers are crucial steps.

For those looking to explore sustainable cooking, they recommended checking out Pipers Farm‘s “The Sustainable Meat Cookbook” and “The Food Almanac” by Miranda York 📚

The time for change is now! 💪🌎
